What is left over after scrapping an old car?
Scrap and scrap metal are sought-after raw materials. Metals can be remelted relatively quickly and given other shapes. Batteries must also be disposed of separately. Then the copper cables are removed. These are incredibly valuable in sales. Plastic, fabrics and other materials are also removed, then it goes to press. What is left is a compact, transportable cube made of steel and aluminium. These materials can later be separated magnetically.
What is a scrapped old car worth?
The scrap is expensive to work with. You need trained staff and heavy equipment that not everyone can operate. Nevertheless, you sometimes get a few euros for old cars from which the parts you are still looking for can be removed. Depending on the current scrap price, some providers even scrap old cars for free, then the costs for recycling can be offset by selling the materials. Warning: This only applies to vehicles that have not been modified and that are not missing any crucial parts.
